When irish eyes are smiling

she stares intently
 at the horison
her clear blue eyes reflecting
what lies beyond the waves

here she can see the beach
and the little ones
playing sand games
the children laughing
and shouting
it seems like yesterday
she looks at the horizon
and smile

God lies beyond
the waves
